"Sign 4 Me – A Signed English Translator" is a valuable tool for learning sign language, offering sign language instruction in 3D. The app has been recognized by Apple as New and Noteworthy. The 3D character in the app can be zoomed in, out, and rotated to provide optimal viewing angles for sign comprehension. Users have full control over character placement, a unique feature not found in other products. The extensive library comprises over 13,000 words, allowing users to input sentences, phrases, words, and alphabet letters, all of which are saved in a convenient History section for easy access and organization. Various controls are available to adjust signing speed, looping, and character positioning.
Vcom3D, the original developer of sign language software using SigningAvatar® characters, aims to facilitate sign language learning tailored to individual communication needs. Through the app's Signed English playback, users can acquire basic sign language skills to interact with Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing individuals. Developed by a team of 8 Deaf professionals fluent in ASL, the app ensures accurate signs reflective of native sign language knowledge.
While the app focuses on teaching Signed English, the development team is actively researching technologies for dynamic translation into true ASL. Geared towards beginners and those interested in learning sign language, the product strives to bridge communication gaps between the hearing and Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing communities.
For optimal learning, users are advised to adjust signing speed, zoom in/out, and rotate the character for better visualization of sign details. This is particularly beneficial for mastering finger spelling. To explore alphabet signs, simply input consecutive letters without spacing. The app offers detailed 3D controls for zooming, rotating, panning, as well as efficient management of history entries.
